SARINA MANNAERT
Her work explores visibility, technique and transformation through practices that often remain backstage or exist primarily online. By foregrounding processes that are usually hidden, she draws attention to the craftsmanship, time and embodied knowledge behind them.
By placing both the making process and its contemporary outcomes at the center, she questions how different bodies, beauty standards, identities and contemporary crafts -such as body paint, artistic make-up and portraiture- are represented and recognized within visual culture.
