Within the music industry, extreme make-up is often used as a tool to reshape identity and presence on stage. It allows musicians to step outside fixed images of themselves, to obscure, exaggerate or fragment the face, and to construct a visual language that supports sound rather than decorates it.

In this series, make-up is approached as a practical and conceptual instrument. It disrupts recognisability, shifts perception and creates distance between the performer and their everyday identity. Rather than illustrating a character or narrative, the work focuses on the moment where appearance becomes unstable and open to interpretation.

Unspoken Narratives looks at how musicians use extreme make-up to operate beyond clear labels or explanations. The faces presented here do not tell a story in a linear way. They resist definition and remain unresolved. What is visible is not a role, but a temporary state shaped by sound, performance and intensity.

The series includes collaborations with singers and international musicians such as Fabienne Erni, Marcella Di Troia and Jennifer Haben. Their participation reinforces the idea that visual transformation in music is not about spectacle alone, but about control, distance and the freedom to exist outside fixed identity.
